These days, many people are thinking about ditching their gas-guzzling vehicles for something a lot more fuel efficient. If you’re one of them, you may have taken a look at new cars for sale. You don’t, however, want to overlook used cars.
While generally gas mileage gets better the more advanced cars get, in many cases, MPG improvements are subtle. Here are some examples of how new models compare with older ones:
Jeep® Wrangler
The off-road beast Jeep Wrangler gets good gas mileage for its class. The 2022 model offers 17 MPG in the city and 25 MPG on the highway. And you won’t lose anything with an older model, as the 2019 Jeep Wrangler, for example, offers the same numbers.
Dodge Challenger
The 2022 Dodge Challenger gets 19 MPG in the city and 30 MPG on the highway. If you decide to go with a 2021 model, those numbers remain the same. Even if you go back to a 2018 Dodge Challenger, you’ll still get the same MPG.
RAM 1500
For the full-size pickup truck class, the RAM 1500 always has great gas mileage. The 2022 model offers 20 MPG in the city and 25 MPG on the highway, and those are the same for the 2020 and 2019 versions.
Chrysler Pacifica
The 2022 Chrysler Pacifica gets 19 MPG in the city and 28 MPG, which are excellent numbers for the minivan class. And even if you go back two model years, the 2020 Chrysler Pacifica gets the same MPG.
